Music once more: lyrics

Noooo! Another post about music? Oh god, how much more can we take?

Oh yes, my dears, I won’t let you go… Another post about music and your conscience obliges you to read it!
But don’t worry too much, this time it’s about lyrics. Yes, lyrics. Not all the good music has lyrics. Most songs do have it though (otherwise we don’t call it songs actually), and mostly in English. Makes it easier to share them with you!

One of the best pieces of lyrics I know, it this:
We should have each other to tea, huh?
We should have each other with cream
(The Lovecats by The Cure)

If anyone ever says this to me, I’ll agree directly and go buy some cream. Then marry and have babies.

Sometimes I feel critical and then these will do:
Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high
(Bullet in the Head by Rage Against The Machine)

I can’t stand people who just accept everything. I like to scream when I’m not pleased or when I disagree.

With the sunlight died and night above me
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain inside
You run for cover in the temple of love
You run for another it’s all the same
For the wind will blow and throw your walls aside
(Temple of Love by Sisters of Mercy)

This song is entirely great. Stunning. Mindblowing. As soon as I read the lyrics along with hearing the song, I fell in love with it. It’s genius and just GREAT.

What are you favourite lyrics? Funniest lyrics? Relatable lyrics? Pray tell.

  1. Excellent lyric choices.
I like misunderstood lyrics, like CCR’s Bathroom On The Right (Bad Moon On The Rise)
Or most anything by The Kinks.

I only heard of the lyrics of I’m a rock, and they pleased me very well. I’ll search up the rest sooner or later too!
