What’s Olympic gold when you’ve got an award?

Well hello there! Here I am again, with slightly bronzed legs and quite a bronzed head after a rather amusing holiday. Add Madrid to your list of Places To Go Before I Die, I would say. Thank you all for the kind comments on my previous post by the way! You make my days.

Now, let’s get to the point. I suck at awards. That’s it. I’ve got nominated several times (of which many times by Lisa, who just nominates everyone who’s interested), but especially by three people: mgert123, Miss Audrey, and danbalva. They gave me the Tell Me ABout Yourself Award and the Sunshine Award. Thank you, kind people. Now I should tell you seven random things about myself.

Actually, that makes me smile a bit. Except my name, address and face, there’s barely anything you don’t know about me. My obsessions with dance, clothes and writing are rather obvious, I believe. My eternal urge for friends and endless love for you all is well-known. You could almost imagine my whole life by reading this blog, don’t you?

And yet, here: seven random things.

1. Since I got a diary when I was 8, I haven’t stopped writing about my life. I can’t stop it. I need it, and even if I don’t need it, I just want it. It’s a habit. Somehow.

2. I’ve got a hard time understanding people sometimes. I’m not the best at hearing what people say. Sometimes that causes awkward situations. Yeah.

3. Two years ago, I discovered a small talent for the high jump. You know, I never knew which leg was my best leg, until I decided to try the other leg. I almost broke the school record.

4. There are at least five things of which I was convinced I would never do them, but which I have done anyway.

5. Sometimes, I prefer reading a book over a magazine in public. It looks slightly more intellectual… And yes, I’m the one who says you shouldn’t care about the things people say about you…

6. I start to be more and more afraid. Normally, I’m not scared of heights, but three days ago, when our airplane took off, I suddenly got the feeling it was so damn fragile… The first time I took an airplane, two of my classmates tried to scare me, that’s why I wasn’t scared at all. Yep, that’s how it works with me! The harder you try to scare me, the more comfortable I will feel.

7. I’M GOING TO MISS THE OG!

Well, that was easier than I had thought. Now I should nominate seven other bloggers. I’ve got a little bunch of dear followers (you know who you are) who have been nominated by me before. This time though, I want to nominate blogs I’ve recently ‘found’. That will make it slightly more interesting for all you, otherwise you already know all of the nominees.

 Alice down the hole

Alice writes interesting posts on fashion and dance and style and this kind of things. A nice read.

Mistwalker

She takes amazingly beautiful pictures!

Edita!

Always pretty, always friendly, always kick-ass. We’ve got quite a lot in common, of which I’m actually proud :). Her wardrobe is on my list of Things To Steal Before I Die.

400 days til 40

The best quest to figure out life by 40 I’ve ever seen!

All the little bones

A nice and interesting blog on dance, ballet especially. (I still hope she’ll do the Bayadere post soon:) )

Summer Solstice Girl

She’s funny and nice and interesting and- oh well, check it out yourself perhaps…

El Guapo

Need I say more? Perhaps he has already been nominated like a thousand times… But that’s because he’s so incredibly funny, friendly, with an endless source of inspiration for various posts and polls…

Thanks everyone for being interested in me and my blog, for nominating me, for commenting and liking and so on! Don’t forget to check out all these blogs here, and have a nice Sunday!

We’re having a picnik and you’re invited!

Looks pretty Belgian.

(*picnic)
A few nights ago, when I didn’t fall asleep immediately, I started thinking about how mind blowing great it would be to meet each other in real life. As Motherventing is planning a trip to Belgium (pretty pretty Belgium) I suggest you come over here somewhere during the summer. Maybe, if the weather gods have mercy, we’ll see a ray of sun broken by the trees. We could have a picnic in one of the parks in Brussels or in Antwerp,as you please. Imagine us sitting there, surrounded by greenness and a blue sky and a sun shining heavily! If everyone would take something with him/her, then we can have a great picnic. Lisa being a mother, could for example bring some food in a picnic basket, and a blanket to spread out on the ground. There we would sit all together, eating pancakes (who will bring the pancakes? Addie?) and strawberries, and melon at whatever you eat when picnicking. Michael would of course bring his books, with signature. Lily could bring her great sense of judging and her contagious smile, Mooselicker should certainly explain that game of his even better so we can play it. Audrey, do you mind bringing your poetic thoughts and reflections upon life?
Oh, and then we’d walk around and I would tell you all I know about the Belgian beer (please do not try to say that Heineken is Belgian. it’s not true. we’ve got better beer. more beer. oh, like we’ve got beer!). We have a very tasty, pink, light beer that tastes like heaven when it’s warm. And we’ve got plenty of other kinds of beer, for the heavy guys we’ve got heavy beer. And the chocolate is everything you’ve imagined. If you haven’t tasted Belgian chocolate, you haven’t tasted chocolate at all.
Plenty of things to visit too! We have a thing we call the Atomium, but it’s known better as the Belgian Balls. We also offer you a little statue of a little guy peeing. Belgian pride. And old buildings, you’ve never seen old buildings if you haven’t seen ours. The shopping street of Antwerp is widely known and appreciated. If you all turn out to be the most trustworthy people ever, I might even invite you over at my place, and we can watch a movie together (OR we go to a cinema – to the movies, for the American friends).

Oh, the fun we’d have.
When imagining it, I want to organise this so badly!

For the ones I haven’t mentioned: enroll yourself by commenting below and telling what you will take to this picnic!

Oh, and don’t forget to pick a date. (Date as in day, not (wo)man you’re interested in. This picnic is for bloggers only!)

Tag Line 2

Part 2 of Mission Tag. This time, I thank Addie (thanks, Addie) for these easy, quickly answered questions.

1. Die a bit younger with all your facilities or, die at a ripe old age, having no idea what is going on.

Die a bit younger, I guess. Having all your facilities is a nice thing.

2. Have you ever eaten gefilte fish?

*lets Google translate do his job* I think not. I’m not very fond of eating dead animals, you know… So I wouldn’t choose it myself, I guess.

3. Your perfect companion. (Yes, LiC and Guap, you may just post photos of your beloved).

Oh dear, I feel so single… Anyone who worships me, or anyone who is interesting. I mean, interesting to me, forever. And a nice body would be pleasant too. Intelligence is needed. Otherwise you really cannot understand my spontaneous remarks and jokes. Further on some stuff no one wants, like humour and kindness.

4. Do you still write real letters?

No, and I find that quite a pity! I do have a diary though, but I don’t write in letter form. Writing by hand is still more fun than typing. But also slower.

5. Movie or play or book?

Book. There aren’t much movies or plays that really impressed me so far. (I’m saying this so many times that I’m afraid I seem to be whining…)

6. What have you done you’d prefer your parents not discover?

After 17 years there aren’t too many things I should hide for my parents. In fact I’m a really nice girl. Never been drunk. Never smoken a cigarette. Never taken drugs.

7. Do you/Did you like your inlaws? (me Nope.)

I hate them because I don’t have them… 😉

8. Regular coffee or the fancy schmancy stuff?

Cappuccino. With whipped cream. I drink no other coffee than that.

9. One thing on your bucket list.

(Is this about things to do before you die…?) There are many things to do before I die. But somehow, I cannot think of something right now…

10. Biggest surprise you’ve had.

Unfortunately not a surprise party! Why does my memory let me down? Oh wait, when I discovered that the Belgian version of Santa Claus didn’t exist, there was disbelief. I still find a bit cruel of the friend who told me that. I was too young. I couldn’t deal with it.

11. Pick an ethnicity other than you own. Why?

Russian. Does that count as an ethnicity? Because I like the Russian language and I’ll probably do it at university.

Now I have to pick other bloggers to answer to my questions….
Which is hard…
Let’s say I’ll do that another time!

Tag Line

(Tag, because I’m tagged, and Line because it’s a sort of line, you know, you have to pass tags on and well, it resembles a line, slightly. Right?)

The pressure of being tagged twice… Thanks to Lisa and Addie anyway!

But the questions are far to interesting to ignore! First the rules though…
1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them!

(Of course you don’t have to obey)

Small problem… How am I supposed to tag eleven other people when they’re already tagged twice? The best way of dealing with this kind of things though, is just postponing until you really have to do it.

So that’s exactly what I’ll do.

Now, the questions.

1. If deserted on an island what is the one book, one film, and one album/CD you would request.
The book would be Lolita. I even bought it today. Just because… The film is harder, there aren’t too many films that really satisfy me. If I could take the Royal Ballet 1991 version of La Bayadere though, I’d be rather contented. I cannot choose between all those great Cd’s. I really cannot!
2. In Heaven, I hope there’s an unlimited supply of sleep? love? fake fur?.

3. If I could change one body part it would be my  *looks at body* it would be the form of my head seen from the side.

4. My favorite day of the week is – they all seem to suck. But okay, Friday is quite good. And Saturday mostly. And Sunday because it’s the only day I can sleep as long as I want. Because damn, I just told you that for Sunday. Friday is quite okay because we have rather nice subjects then. Saturday because it’s such a long day. I start with a 2 hour lasting dance class and sometimes it ends in a cafe. Which is rather okay too.

5. The person who makes me laugh the most is that one good friend of mine. (They all think it’s them now 🙂 )

6. My dream occupation would be dancing. Not really unexpected, right?

7. My favorite dream car is a bike. Seriously, I do not know anything about cars…

8. My most hated Teacher was that one asshole (I cannot say more- I might still have him/her). Worst class plenty. No, not plenty. We used to have a sort of art class, but the teacher was really expecting too much, and you had to spent so much time on it… I didn’t agree on his way of teaching. (And he just didn’t understand my art… Far too avant-garde for him) But eerm, I still disagree on plenty of teachers now. I guess I’m too critical.

9. Would you rather be eaten by sharks or eaten by lions? Or, live in a world of mud? (This last option is a family joke, by the way.)
Lions. You know, when my cat attacks my arm, his teeth and nails hurt me, but his fur is very soft. Imagine you have a whole lion attacking you. Must be even more softness!
(LiC, if you want to hug a cat, then I really do not understand that you choose the mud!)

10. My favorite smell is my unfindable (okay, I just made up that word) perfume.

11. If I had to change my first name it would be (how do you know I don’t say my real first name now?) Ailyn, perhaps.

That was only part 1… To be continued.

Liebster Blog Award ended up here!

What’s that…?
That is the Liebster Blog Award! Oh yes, my dears, this blog’s been nominated by Becoming Bitter, a fantastic death eater girl, and Michael Cargill, a fantastic bald guy. *kiss*

In order to officially get this award, I must nominate other people/blogs. So let’s see. Who deserves to get forced to put a heart on his/her blog?
(A heart. A red one. With the word ‘liebster’ in front of it, which means dearest. Oh yeah!)
Let’s see. I suspect you all from visiting this blogs already, but still.

Sparklebumps – because she sparkles, duh. She deserves the heart because she is so amusing.
Mooselicker – because he licks mooses… and next to that, he can write a long and funny post about trite things. Such a talent.
Motherventing – she’s the mother of a child and a blog, which she combines in the best way.
Brainrants – army male whose site uses only free-range, organic electrons- what do you want more? He never runs out of inspiration. He’ll make you laugh out loud.
Breezyk – somehow, she seems to be like us. A bit different, though, so go and check her blog.
Lily in Canada – she doesn’t really like to be there, but it’s a source of great posts.

That’s it, people! Let’s drink something to this wonderful experience. Cheers!

RFB opens a bottle of champagne…

… because today we exist for two months! So let’s have a flute together.
Two months of random information. I mean, we have fashion, art, music, books, humour and so on for free. There isn’t really a general theme in this blog, but that’s to keep it refreshing and surprising.
Some leaks from this site…
…the best day so far was Monday the 3rd of October.
…the best post so far was Dumbstep.
…the best commenter so far was Michael Cargill.
In the category ‘secret information’, this definitely scores.
I know.

And there is some good news: we’ll continue! Oh yes!
For those who love music, keep checking us, for soon there’ll be a big post here about something really joyful. *ah, sneaky tricks*
Thanks to all our viewers (please repeat your actions 😉 ).
